Who is Gregory?
Born in Kansas
City, Missouri in 1950, Gregory’s family moved to Fresno, California in
1956 where he was raised. The eldest of nine children, Gregory fought
and overcame numerous obstacles to free himself from the cycle of
poverty that surrounded him.
Upon graduating
high school in 1969, Gregory was inspired by the old school songs such
as “We’re a Winner”, Keep on Pushing”, “You Can Make it if You Try” and
“I’m Black and I’m Proud”. This, along with his admiration and
fascination with the sights and sounds of the “big” city, motivated him
to move to the Bay Area and confidently step out on his own.
As a matter of
fact, Gregory is not happy with some of the music being played on the
airways today and if you’d like to read some of his prose, which is
going to become music with positive rather than negative messages, you
can view them in
Positive Rap.
Not letting
anything get in his way, or slow him down, Gregory forged on and arrived
in the Bay Area and knew this was home. Holding down several odd jobs,
Gregory quickly realized that there were many doors open to those who
had the desire and determination to get ahead in life. After taking the
test for sheet metal workers and finishing in the top of his class,
Gregory spent the next 36+ years as a journeyman sheet metal worker and
foreman.
Yet – along with
his profession and self taught body building techniques, Gregory always
had the desire to be self-employed and nurtured his dream by creating
unique inventions.
This love for
inventing was inspired by his brother who possessed self-taught
engineering skills which led to Gregory creating a skateboard with
battery operated lights. In 1991 the United States Patent and Trademark
Office granted Gregory a US Patent for this invention. Additionally,
patents are in various stages on several other inventions created by
Gregory, such as a board game, a computerized jump rope, a miniature box
hockey game and his
Dominoes in a Pouch™.
Restless and driven, Gregory is constantly developing new ideas and
thinking of novel ways to help people to be the best that they can be.
An avid fitness buff, another of Gregory’s inventions is an exerciser
bar he designed and calls the U-Beat-It Stick™, which can be used
by children as well as adults. The U-Beat-It-Stick™ is a unique
and fun exercise apparatus which incorporates movement and dance which
can be used with old school as well as today’s popular music. Currently
Gregory is working on producing a video to accompany his
U-Beat-It-Stick™. It is interesting to note that between the
U-Beat-It-Stick™, a unique diet Gregory created (which is in the
instruction manual that comes with each U-Beat-It-Stick™, Gregory
lost weight and no longer requires insulin to aid with his diabetes.
Displayed in this store are designs by Gregory and designs by some of
his associates. Gregory has decreed that a portion of every sale will go
to children all over the world. |
